It was a weekend of triumph for Freestyle Combat Academy as fighters Abel and Austin stepped into the K1 kickboxing ring and walked out with impressive victories, showcasing the grit, discipline, and skill the academy is known for.
Austin – A Clinical Unanimous Decision Victory
In a tightly contested three-round battle, Austin put on a composed and technical performance that impressed both the judges and spectators. From the opening bell, he controlled the pace with crisp combinations, excellent footwork, and sharp counters.
Despite pressure from a tough opponent, Austin stayed composed under fire and executed a smart game plan, earning a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards.
Coach Matt Braybrook praised the performance: “Austin fought with maturity beyond his years. He listened, stayed sharp, and made it a clean, dominant win.”
Abel – Second Round TKO Statement
Following Austin’s win, Abel wasted no time making his mark. Exploding out of the gate, Abel applied relentless pressure in the first round, softening his opponent with powerful strikes to the body and head.
In the second round, that pressure paid off. A flurry of precise shots forced the referee to step in, awarding Abel a TKO victory and marking a strong statement in his K1 journe“Abel came to make a statement, and he delivered,” said Matt Braybrook. “He’s a dangerous fighter when he’s in that zone — and today, he was absolutely in it.”
